MT TARAWERA
Because Mt Tarawera is located in New Zealand it sits on the boundaries of the Australian and the Pacific plate.
It is made up of a group of ryholytic lava domes that were formed by an earlier explosive basaltic eruption in 1886, which killed around 120 people. These lava domes spread out for approximately 17 kilometres northeast-southwest. the original volcano was formed by eruptions in 1314 ad. the latest eruption is that of 1886 which also destroyed the pink and white terraces. the eruption in 1886 was caused by pressure building up underneath Mt Tarawera, the mornig of the eruption it was icey cold but it wasnt like the normal cold days which were frosty. it was called electric cold.
